Biography
Austin Pendleton is an American actor, playwright and theatre director. He was born on 27 March 1940 in Warren, Ohio, and graduated from Yale University in 1961.
Pendleton has worked extensively in theatre and film since the 1960s. He voiced Gurgle in the Pixar films Finding Nemo (2003) and Finding Dory (2016). Other screen credits include A Beautiful Mind (2001), My Cousin Vinny (1992), Amistad (1997) and Short Circuit (1986).
On stage he received a Tony Award nomination for directing the 1981 Broadway revival of The Little Foxes. He has also received Obie and Drama Desk Awards, including a Special Drama Desk Award in 2007.
