Biography
Bebe Neuwirth is an American actress, singer and dancer. Born Beatrice Jane Neuwirth on 31 December 1958 in Newark, New Jersey, she trained in dance at the Juilliard School and began her career on Broadway, making her debut in the 1980 production of A Chorus Line.
She is known for originating the role of Velma Kelly in the 1996 revival of Chicago, for which she won a Tony Award, and for playing Dr Lilith Sternin on the sitcom Cheers (1986–1993) and its spin-off Frasier. Her film credits include Say Anything... (1989), Bugsy (1991) as Countess di Frasso, Jumanji (1995) and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003). She has received two Emmy Awards and two Tony Awards.
