Biography
Bill Pohlad is an American film producer and director. He founded River Road Entertainment in 1987 and has production credits on films including Brokeback Mountain (2005, as executive producer), Into the Wild (2007), The Tree of Life (2011), 12 Years a Slave (2013) and Wild (2014). He directed the Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy (2014) and Dreamin' Wild (2023).
Born in Minnesota in 1955, Pohlad is the son of financier Carl Pohlad, former owner of the Minnesota Twins baseball team, and Mary Eloise Pohlad. He has two brothers, Jim and Bob Pohlad. He was nominated for an Academy Award as a producer of The Tree of Life.
