Biography
Bill Roe is an American cinematographer and television director. He began his career in the camera department in the 1980s and worked as a cinematographer on numerous television series and films, including episodes of Mad Men (2007).
Roe received three Primetime Emmy nominations for his cinematography, notably for The X-Files. He won two American Society of Cinematographers Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in a Regular Series for that series in 1999 and 2000. He was later honoured with the ASC Career Achievement in Television Award in 2015.
Since the 2010s Roe has worked primarily as a director on series including Castle (2010–2016), The Blacklist (2016–2020), The Rookie (2019–) and others.
