Biography

Bob Daily is an American television writer and producer. He began his career as a journalist in Chicago, contributing to publications including Chicago Magazine, Spy, Men's Journal, the Chicago Tribune and the Boston Globe. He graduated from Carleton College in 1982 with a BA in English and later received an MA in English from the University of Chicago.

Daily joined the writing staff of the NBC sitcom Frasier in 1999, writing or co-writing fifteen episodes over five seasons and serving in various producer roles. He received two Writers Guild of America Awards for Outstanding Script – Episodic Comedy and an Emmy nomination during his time on the series. Subsequent credits include writing and producing on Desperate Housewives (2006–2012), where he rose to executive producer and showrunner for the final season; co-creating and showrunning Superior Donuts; and executive producing on series such as the reboot of The Odd Couple, The Wonder Years (2021) and Shifting Gears (2025). He has also worked as a consulting producer on the Frasier revival.
