Biography
Bobby Barber, also credited as Robert S. Barbera, was an American actor who appeared in bit parts, often uncredited, in over 100 films from the 1930s to the 1950s. Born in New York City in 1894, he frequently played roles such as waiters, delivery boys, bellhops and men on the street.
Barber is particularly noted for his work with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, appearing in many of their films and about half of their television shows. He was employed by the duo as an on-set prankster to maintain energy between takes. His film credits include uncredited roles in Modern Times (1936), The Lady Eve (1941), Laura (1944) and Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948). His final film appearance was in The 30 Foot Bride of Candy Rock (1959). He died in 1976 in California.
