Biography

Buck Henry was an American actor, screenwriter and director. Born Henry Zuckerman in New York City, he began his career in television in the early 1960s and co-created the series Get Smart with Mel Brooks.

He wrote the screenplay for The Graduate (1967) and appeared in films including Catch-22 (1970), The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) as Oliver Farnsworth, The Player (1992) and Short Cuts (1993). Henry co-directed Heaven Can Wait (1978) with Warren Beatty and hosted Saturday Night Live ten times.
