Biography

Charlotte Brändström is a Swedish-French film and television director. Born in Paris to Swedish parents on 30 May 1959, she graduated from the Directing Program at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

She began directing feature films in the late 1980s, including Un été d'orages (1989) and A Business Affair (1994). Brändström later directed television episodes and films in France and Sweden, such as episodes of Wallander (2009, 2013) and Johan Falk films (2012–2013).

She is known for directing episodes of international series including Grey's Anatomy (2005), Outlander (2014), The Man in the High Castle (2015), The Witcher (2019), The Outsider (2020), The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022), Shōgun (2024) and Scarpetta (2026).
