Biography
Chloe Pirrie is a Scottish actress born on 25 August 1987 in Edinburgh. She was raised in Stockbridge and attended the Mary Erskine School. She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, graduating in 2009.
Pirrie made her professional debut at the Royal National Theatre in 2010. Her breakthrough came with the lead role in the 2012 film Shell, for which she won the Most Promising Newcomer award at the 2013 British Independent Film Awards. She has appeared in Black Mirror (2013), The Game (2014), Youth (2015), the short film Stutterer (2015), The Crown (2016), The Queen's Gambit (2020), Under the Banner of Heaven (2022) and as Merritt Lingard in the 2025 series Dept. Q.
