Biography
Claudio Simonetti is an Italian composer and musician, born on 19 February 1952 in São Paulo, Brazil. He is the keyboardist and a founder member of the progressive rock band Goblin and has specialised in scores for Italian and American horror films since the 1970s.
A frequent collaborator with director Dario Argento, Simonetti contributed to the scores of Deep Red (1975), Suspiria (1977), Dawn of the Dead (1978), Tenebrae (1982), Phenomena (1985), Demons (1985) and Opera (1987). He has also worked with directors including Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato and Lamberto Bava. He studied at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome and is the son of composer Enrico Simonetti. He has also been credited under the name Claude King.
