Biography

Cristiano Travaglioli is an Italian film editor. Born on 9 September 1968 in Recanati, he studied at the DAMS department of the University of Bologna and trained in film editing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome under Roberto Perpignani. He began his career as an assistant editor in the mid-1990s.

Travaglioli is best known for his long collaboration with director Paolo Sorrentino. He edited every Sorrentino feature from Il Divo (2008) onwards, including This Must Be the Place (2011), The Great Beauty (2013), Youth (2015), The Hand of God (2021) and Parthenope (2024), as well as the series The Young Pope (2016) and The New Pope (2020). He has also worked with directors including Pif, Francesco Munzi and Pappi Corsicato.

His awards include the European Film Award for Best Editor for The Great Beauty, a David di Donatello, a Nastro d'Argento and a Ciak d'Oro.
