Biography
Dan O'Keefe is an American television writer and producer. He graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990 and began his career as a staff writer on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
He joined the writing staff of Seinfeld for its eighth and ninth seasons (1997–1998). Among his contributions was co-writing the story for the 1997 episode 'The Strike', which popularised the holiday Festivus; the tradition had been created by his father.
O'Keefe has written for The Drew Carey Show (1998–2004), The League (2009–2015), Silicon Valley (2014–2017) and Veep (2019). He also wrote for Kickin' It and Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head, and published the book The Real Festivus in 2005. He is the brother of composer Laurence O'Keefe.
