Biography
David Anspaugh is an American television and film director and producer. Born on 24 September 1946 in Decatur, Indiana, he studied at Indiana University Bloomington and the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and taught high school in Colorado before entering the industry.
Anspaugh began as an associate producer on television films and advanced to producer and director on the series Hill Street Blues (1981), for which he received two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Directors Guild of America Award. He subsequently directed episodes of St. Elsewhere (1982) and Miami Vice (1984). His feature film directing debut was Hoosiers (1986), followed by Rudy (1993) and other films including Moonlight and Valentino (1995) and The Game of Their Lives (2005).
