Biography

David Calder is an English actor. Born on 1 August 1946 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, he trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

His film credits include Rush (2013) as Louis Stanley, The World Is Not Enough (1999) as Sir Robert King, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) as the Bishop of Grasse, and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) as Roger Wilson. He has also appeared in The Lost City of Z (2017), The Lady in the Van (2015), and Superman (1978).

On television, Calder has played roles in series including Midsomer Murders (1997), Utopia (2013), Widows, and Star Cops. His stage work includes National Theatre productions such as Hamlet and Julius Caesar.
