Biography

David Cann is an English actor. Born on 12 November 1956 in Westminster, London, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1973, and began his career in repertory theatre, appearing in Shakespeare, musicals and pantomime at venues across Britain.

He moved into television with roles in series including Grange Hill and Sapphire and Steel. In the mid-1990s he appeared in Chris Morris's Brass Eye (1997) and contributed to the radio series Blue Jam, later appearing in the television version Jam (2000) as The Doctor. His film credits include Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) as Martin, Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) as a cameraman, Attack the Block (2011) and Les Misérables (2012).
