Biography
David Lowell Rich (1920–2001) was an American film and television director and producer. He directed nearly 100 films and episodes between 1950 and 1987, working extensively in anthology and drama series during the 1960s.
His television credits include episodes of The Twilight Zone (1963), Mission: Impossible, Mannix, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and Route 66. In features he directed Madame X (1966), Eye of the Cat (1969) and The Concorde... Airport '79 (1979). He also made several television disaster films in the 1970s.
Rich won a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding direction of a special for The Defection of Simas Kudirka (1978). His brother was the director John Rich.
