Biography
David X. Cohen, born David Samuel Cohen, is an American television writer. He began his career writing for Beavis and Butt-Head before joining the staff of The Simpsons in 1993, where he wrote or co-wrote thirteen episodes under the name David S. Cohen until 1998. He later changed his middle initial to X upon joining the Writers Guild of America to distinguish himself from another member.
Cohen co-developed the animated series Futurama with Matt Groening, serving as head writer, executive producer and showrunner. He has also written episodes of Disenchantment. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Harvard University and a master's degree in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley. Cohen has won four Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on The Simpsons and Futurama.
