Biography
Gregg Vanzo is an American animator, director and producer. Born on 8 April 1961 in Webster, New York, he began his career as an animator on projects including Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories and the short Box Office Bunny before joining The Simpsons in 1989, where he worked as a character layout artist, overseas animation director and main title animator across 80 episodes.
He co-directed the season one episode "There's No Disgrace Like Home" with Kent Butterworth. In 1991, with his wife Nikki, Vanzo founded Rough Draft Studios, which has produced animation for The Simpsons, Futurama, Beavis and Butt-Head, The Maxx, The Critic and other series. He served as supervising director on Futurama (also co-directing several episodes and acting as animation executive producer), The Maxx and Beavis and Butt-Head, and as sequence director on The Simpsons Movie (2007).
Vanzo received an Annecy Award for his work on The Maxx and two Primetime Emmy Awards for Futurama.
