Biography

Dewey Robinson was an American character actor who appeared in more than 250 films between 1931 and 1952. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, on 17 August 1898, he made his Broadway debut in 1922 in the melodrama The Last Warning and his film debut in 1931 in Tarnished Lady.

Robinson frequently played supporting or uncredited roles, including Spider Kane in She Done Him Wrong (1933). He was a member of Preston Sturges's informal stock company, appearing in eight of the director's films. Other credits include uncredited parts in Casablanca (1943), Murder, My Sweet (1944) and The Palm Beach Story (1942). He died in Las Vegas, Nevada, on 11 December 1950.
