Biography

Dominic Chianese is an American actor, singer and musician. Born on 24 February 1931 in the Bronx, New York City, he graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and later from Brooklyn College with a degree in speech and theatre. He began his professional career in 1952 with stage work, including tours and off-Broadway productions, before moving into film and television in the 1970s.

Chianese is best known for playing Corrado 'Junior' Soprano in the HBO series The Sopranos (1999–2007). Earlier film roles include Johnny Ola in The Godfather Part II (1974), appearances in Dog Day Afternoon (1975) and All the President's Men (1976), and later parts in Boardwalk Empire (2010–2013) as Leander Cephas Whitlock. He received Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2000 and 2001 for his work on The Sopranos.

Chianese has also maintained a parallel career in music as a tenor, releasing albums of American and Italian songs and performing on The Sopranos.
