Biography
Donald Meek was a Scottish-American actor. He first performed publicly at the age of eight and began appearing on Broadway in 1903, after earlier work in stock theatre and other stage productions.
Meek appeared in numerous Hollywood films from the 1930s onward, often in supporting roles as timid or worried characters. Notable credits include Samuel Peacock in Stagecoach (1939) and Mr. Poppins in You Can't Take It with You (1938). He also featured in Captain Blood (1935), The Informer (1935) and Young Mr. Lincoln (1939).
He received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Meek died in Los Angeles in 1946.
