Biography
Erwin Leder is an Austrian actor. Born on 30 July 1951 in St. Pölten, he trained at the Krauss school in Vienna and made his film and stage débuts in the late 1970s.
He is best known for his role as Chief Mechanic Johann, nicknamed 'Das Gespenst', in Wolfgang Petersen's Das Boot (1981). Other notable film roles include the lead in Gerald Kargl's Angst (1983), an SS Waffen Officer in Schindler's List (1993), a peasant in The Three Musketeers (1993), and the lycan scientist Singe in Underworld (2003), which he reprised in a cameo in the sequel.
