Flea, born Michael Peter Balzary, is an Australian-American musician and actor. He is a founding member and bassist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, formed in 1983 with Anthony Kiedis.

Born on 16 October 1962 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, he moved to the United States as a child. He has appeared in films including My Own Private Idaho (1991) as Budd and The Big Lebowski (1998) as Nihilist #2. His other acting credits include Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990) as Needles, and voice roles such as in the Inside Out films.
