Biography
Franco Arcalli, also credited as Kim Arcalli, was an Italian film editor and screenwriter. Born in Rome in 1929, he began working in cinema as an actor, appearing in Luchino Visconti's Senso (1954). He later moved into editing and screenwriting, often collaborating with directors including Bernardo Bertolucci and Michelangelo Antonioni.
His editing credits include The Conformist (1971), Last Tango in Paris (1972), The Night Porter (1974), The Passenger (1975) and 1900 (1976). He also contributed to the screenplays for Last Tango in Paris, 1900 and Once Upon a Time in America (1984). Arcalli died in Rome in 1978 while working on the latter film.
