Biography

Fred Berger (born 10 May 1981) is an American film producer. He began working in production roles in the late 2000s and received an associate producer credit on the HBO film Taking Chance (2009).

Berger is best known for producing La La Land (2016), for which he shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and the Producers Guild of America Award for Best Theatrical Motion Picture. He became a partner at Automatik Entertainment with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones in 2016; the company later merged with Range Media Partners in 2023, where he serves as Partner and Co-President of Film & Production. His other producing credits include The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016), Bad Education (2019) and A Complete Unknown (2024), the latter earning him a second Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
