Fred Hechinger is an American actor. He was born on 2 December 1999 in New York City.

He began his career with a supporting role as Trevor in the 2018 coming-of-age film Eighth Grade. Subsequent film credits include John Calley in News of the World (2020), Ethan Russell in The Woman in the Window (2021), Simon in the Fear Street trilogy (2021), Fred in Let Them All Talk (2020), Cadet Randolph Ballinger in The Pale Blue Eye (2022), Harper in Nickel Boys (2024), Daniel in Thelma (2024), Dmitri Kravinoff in Kraven the Hunter (2024) and Emperor Caracalla in Gladiator II (2024). On television he appeared as Quinn Mossbacher in the first season of The White Lotus (2021) and as Seth Warshavsky in the miniseries Pam & Tommy (2022).

His grandfather was the education editor Fred M. Hechinger.
