Biography
Gardner Stern is a television writer and producer. He contributed as writer, teleplay writer and story writer on NYPD Blue (1993), also serving as executive story editor and later producer on the series. He worked as writer, teleplay writer, story writer and supervising producer on Law & Order (1990).
Stern has written episodes for series including Class of '96 (1993), The Practice (1997), John Doe (2002) and Las Vegas (2003). He was co-creator and executive producer of Breaking News (2002) and held executive producer or consulting producer roles on Las Vegas, Shark (2006) and The Art of More (2015).
He won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series, for NYPD Blue in 1995 and Law & Order in 1997, and a Producers Guild of America Award for Law & Order in 1997.
