Biography
Doug Palau is an American television writer and producer. He began writing for television on the third season of Law & Order in 1993, co-writing the story (with René Balcer) and the teleplay for the episode "Benevolence". He returned for the fourth season, writing the story and co-writing the teleplay (with Ed Zuckerman) for "Golden Years".
Palau worked on several Steven Bochco productions. He served as a story editor and later co-producer on Murder One (1995–1997), writing multiple episodes. He contributed as a writer and co-producer to Brooklyn South (1998) and moved to NYPD Blue as a writer and producer for its sixth season (1998–1999), for which the production team received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. He also wrote the episode "Sins of the Fathers" for the sixth season of ER in 1999.
Subsequent credits include writing and producing on Bull (2000), The Agency (2001–2002), and Kingpin (2003). He and his co-writers received an Edgar Award nomination for the Brooklyn South episode "Skell in a Cell".
