Biography
Walon Green is an American writer, producer and director of films and television. He was born on 15 December 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Green began in documentaries, producing and directing National Geographic specials and The Hellstrom Chronicle (1971), which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. His feature screenwriting credits include The Wild Bunch (1969), Sorcerer (1977), RoboCop 2 (1990) and Eraser (1996).
On television he wrote episodes of Hill Street Blues (1985–1986), Law & Order (1992–1994), NYPD Blue (1994–1995) and ER (1997–2000). He received Emmy nominations for Hill Street Blues and Law & Order, and won an Emmy for NYPD Blue; he also shared a 1995 Edgar Award for an NYPD Blue episode.
