Biography
Gareth Edwards is a British film director and screenwriter. He studied film and video at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, graduating in 1996, and began his career in visual effects for television documentaries and dramas.
Edwards gained recognition with his debut feature Monsters (2010), which he wrote, directed, shot and provided visual effects for. He went on to direct the studio films Godzilla (2014), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), The Creator (2023), on which he also received story and screenplay credits, and Jurassic World Rebirth (2025).
