Biography
Gavin Struthers is a freelance cinematographer and director of photography. He studied graphics, fine art and photography at the University for the Creative Arts before graduating from the National Film and Television School, where he was mentored by Freddie Francis and received the Freddie Francis Scholarship. He began his career shooting documentaries, including a Channel 4 project in 1997, before moving into drama and commercials.
Struthers has worked on numerous British television series, including episodes of Downton Abbey (2010) and Doctor Who (2005). He was accepted into the American Society of Cinematographers in 2016 and the British Society of Cinematographers in 2018. Other credits include Shameless, Last Tango in Halifax, Shetland, Endeavour, The Alienist and The Witcher.
