Biography
Genevieve O'Reilly is an Irish-Australian actress. Born on 6 January 1977 in Dublin, Ireland, she moved with her family to Adelaide, South Australia, at the age of ten. She trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, graduating in 2000.
O'Reilly is known for portraying Mon Mothma in the Star Wars franchise, beginning with Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). She reprised the role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), the series Andor (2022–2025) and Ahsoka (2023). Her other film credits include The Matrix Reloaded (2003), The Matrix Revolutions (2003), The Legend of Tarzan (2016) and The Dry (2020). She has received nominations for Saturn Awards and Irish Film and Television Awards for her work in Andor, and an AACTA Award nomination for The Dry.
