Biography
George N. Martin (15 August 1929 – 1 June 2010) was an American stage, film and television actor. Born in New York City, he was a long-time member of Providence's Trinity Repertory Company and received a Tony Award nomination in 1983 for his performance in David Hare's Plenty.
On screen he appeared in supporting roles in several notable films, including Dr Hager in Dead Poets Society (1989), Frank in Awakenings (1990), the hotel receptionist in Léon: The Professional (1994) and the Chairman in Quiz Show (1994). He also featured in Dave (1993) and One Fine Day (1996). Martin was married to actress Katherine Helmond from 1957 to 1962.
