Biography
George Steel is a British cinematographer. He served as director of photography on the first series of Peaky Blinders (2013) and on the Black Mirror episode 'White Christmas' (2014).
Steel has collaborated frequently with director Tom Harper. Their joint credits include War & Peace (2016), Wild Rose (2018), The Aeronauts (2019) and Heart of Stone (2023). Other feature work includes Robin Hood (2018) and The Last Letter from Your Lover (2021); television credits include The Sandman (2022).
He won a BAFTA Craft Award for photography and lighting on Peaky Blinders.
