Biography

George Wyner is an American actor. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he graduated from Syracuse University as a drama major in 1968 and began working in television and film in the early 1970s.

He is known for his recurring role as Assistant District Attorney Irwin Bernstein on the series Hill Street Blues (1981–1987) and for film appearances including Colonel Sandurz in Spaceballs (1987) and Rabbi Nachtner in A Serious Man (2009). Wyner has guest-starred on numerous television programmes and appeared in films such as To Be or Not to Be (1983), Fletch (1985), The Devil's Advocate (1997) and Trouble with the Curve (2012). He also had a lead role as Deputy Max Rubin on the sitcom She's the Sheriff (1987–1989).
