Biography
Harriet Andersson is a Swedish actress born on 14 February 1932 in Stockholm. She began her career as a teenager, training at the Calle Flygare stage school and appearing in theatre productions from 1949.
She became known for her long collaboration with director Ingmar Bergman, appearing in several of his stage productions at Malmö stadsteater in the mid-1950s and in films including Summer with Monika (1953), Smiles of a Summer Night (1955), Through a Glass Darkly (1961), Cries and Whispers (1972) as Agnes, and Fanny and Alexander (1982). She has also appeared in films by other directors, such as Dogville (2003).
Andersson received a Guldbagge award for her performance in Cries and Whispers and an honorary Guldbagge in 2009.
