Biography

Jacques Witta (22 April 1934 – 14 April 2026) was a French film editor. He began working in motion picture editing in the late 1950s and edited more than sixty feature films.

Witta is best known for his collaboration with director Krzysztof Kieślowski, which began with The Double Life of Véronique (1991) and continued with Three Colors: Blue (1993) and Three Colors: Red (1994). He also worked with directors including Claude Berri and Jean Becker.

He received the César Award for Best Film Editing twice: in 1984 for One Deadly Summer (1983) and in 1994 for Three Colors: Blue.
