Biography
Jamie Anderson is an American cinematographer born on 23 September 1946 in New York City. He has also been credited as James M. Anderson and Jim Anderson.
He studied film at New York University and English at Syracuse University. His father was a stage manager and television director, and he is the grandson of playwright and screenwriter Maxwell Anderson. Anderson began as a camera operator on films including Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) and Airplane! (1980) before becoming director of photography on features from the mid-1970s.
His cinematography credits include What's Love Got to Do with It (1993), Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), Small Soldiers (1998), The Gift (2000), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), Bad Santa (2003) and The Girl Next Door (2004). He has also worked extensively in television, including 34 episodes of Crossing Jordan (2002–2007). He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
