Biography
Jamie Selkirk is a New Zealand film editor and producer. He began his career at the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation as a trainee editor, cutting newsreels, current affairs programmes, documentaries and dramas, before moving into feature films.
Selkirk has maintained a long collaboration with director Peter Jackson. He edited Bad Taste (1987), Meet the Feebles (1989), Braindead (1992) and Heavenly Creatures (1994), and served as supervising editor on The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002). He was editor and co-producer on The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), for which he received the Academy Award for Best Film Editing, and edited King Kong (2005). He also worked as a producer on several Jackson projects and helped establish Weta Workshop.
