Biography
Jane Kaczmarek is an American actress. She trained at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the Yale School of Drama.
She is best known for playing Lois in the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle (2000–2006), for which she received seven consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations and three Golden Globe Award nominations. She reprised the role in the 2026 miniseries revival Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair. Other credits include recurring roles in Frasier and The Simpsons, and appearances in films such as Pleasantville (1998). She has also worked in theatre, including a Broadway replacement role in Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers.
