Biography
Javier Grillo-Marxuach is a television screenwriter and producer. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991 with a BA in creative writing and literary and cultural studies, and later earned an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Southern California.
He worked as a supervising producer and writer on the first two seasons of Lost (2004), contributing to several episodes. His other credits include writing for Charmed (1998), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), Medium (2005), The 100 (2014), The Witcher (2019) and FROM (2022). He created the comic book series The Middleman and its short-lived ABC Family television adaptation (2008). The Lost writing staff received a Writers Guild of America Award for Dramatic Series.
