Biography
Jay Duplass is an American filmmaker, actor, producer and author. Born Lawrence Jay Duplass Jr. on 7 March 1973 in New Orleans, Louisiana, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
With his brother Mark Duplass he co-wrote and directed the films The Puffy Chair (2005), Cyrus (2010) and Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011), and co-created the HBO series Togetherness (2015–2016) and Room 104 (2017–2020). He starred as Josh Pfefferman in the Amazon series Transparent (2014–2019) and has acted in Industry (2020–), The Chair (2021), Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023–) and Pain Hustlers (2023).
Duplass plays Steve in the FX limited series Dying for Sex (2025).
