Biography

Jo Yeong-wook, also credited as Cho Young-wook or Cho Young-wuk, is a South Korean film score composer and music director. He was born on 1 January 1962.

He is best known for his frequent collaborations with director Park Chan-wook. Their joint credits include Joint Security Area (2000), Oldboy (2003), Lady Vengeance (2005), Thirst (2009), The Handmaiden (2016), Decision to Leave (2022) and No Other Choice (2025). He has also composed for films such as A Taxi Driver (2017) and The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil (2019).

Yeong-wook has received several awards for his work, including Blue Dragon Film Awards for best music on Thirst and No Other Choice.
