Biography
Joe Armstrong is an English actor. He was born on 7 October 1978 in Hammersmith, London, and is the son of actor Alun Armstrong.
His television roles include Allan A Dale in the BBC series Robin Hood (2006–2009), Ashley Cowgill in Happy Valley (2014), Bairstow in The Village (2013–2014), Samuel Washington in Gentleman Jack (2019–2022) and Gildas in Britannia (2017–2018). Film credits include John Evans in Darkest Hour (2017) and Hotspur in The Hollow Crown (2012). He has also appeared in Black Mirror (2016) and Fool Me Once (2024).
