Biography
John Ross Bowie is an American actor and comedian. He was born on 30 May 1971 in New York City and graduated from Ithaca College with a BA in English. He taught English for one year before pursuing acting and comedy.
Bowie is best known for playing Barry Kripke in The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019) and reprising the role in the spin-off series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe (2026). He had a main role as Jimmy DiMeo in Speechless (2016–2019) and has appeared in films including The Heat (2013) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). He is a regular performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and was a member of the sketch group The Naked Babies. Bowie was formerly a member of the New York pop-punk band Egghead.
