Biography
Jorge Zamacona is an American television writer and producer. He began his career as a writer on the medical drama St. Elsewhere (1982), contributing teleplays in 1984.
Zamacona worked extensively on the police drama Homicide: Life on the Street (1993) as a writer, story editor and producer, and wrote crossover episodes with Law & Order (1990). He co-created the police series 10-8: Officers on Duty (2003) and Wanted (2005). His other writing credits include Millennium (1996), Third Watch (1999), The Last Ship (2014), Quantico (2015), City on a Hill (2019) and Law & Order: Organized Crime (2021). He graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Northridge in 1983 with a degree in television and film writing and production.
