Biography
Kate Hawley is a New Zealand costume and set designer. She studied at Wellington Polytechnic and the Motley Theatre Design course in London.
Her film credits include Pacific Rim (2013), Crimson Peak (2015), Suicide Squad (2016), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), Mortal Engines (2018) and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022). She designed the costumes for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein (2025), for which she won an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award.
Hawley has also created sets and costumes for stage productions by the Royal New Zealand Ballet, New Zealand Opera and the New Zealand Festival.
