Biography
Guillermo del Toro is a Mexican film director, screenwriter and producer. He was born on 9 October 1964 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
His feature directorial debut was Cronos (1993). He later directed Blade II (2002), Hellboy (2004), Pan's Labyrinth (2006), Pacific Rim (2013), The Shape of Water (2017) and Frankenstein (2025), on which he also served as writer and producer.
Del Toro won Academy Awards for best director and best picture for The Shape of Water and for best animated feature for Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022).
