Biography
Kim Sinclair is a New Zealand production designer and art director. Born on 10 July 1954 in Auckland, he began his career in New Zealand before working on international productions.
He is known for his work as supervising art director and set decorator on Avatar (2009), for which he shared an Academy Award for Best Art Direction. Other credits include production design on Slow West (2015), The Dark Horse (2014) and M3GAN (2022), and art direction on Man of Steel (2013), The Last Samurai (2003) and Cast Away (2000).
Sinclair won a New Zealand Film Award for Best Production Design for Slow West and has contributed to films shot in multiple countries, including work for directors such as James Cameron and Steven Spielberg.
