Biography
Larry Duran (1925–2002) was an American actor and stuntman. Born Lawrence Duran in Los Angeles, California, he served in the United States Navy and became an amateur boxer before turning professional. He made his screen debut in 1952 in Viva Zapata!, after being recruited by Marlon Brando, with whom he maintained a long professional association.
Duran is best known for playing Chico Modesto in Brando’s One-Eyed Jacks (1961). He appeared in numerous films, often in uncredited or athletic roles, and performed stunts in titles including The Magnificent Seven (1960), Mutiny on the Bounty (1962), Dirty Harry (1971) and The Towering Inferno (1974). His television work included guest appearances in series such as Get Smart (1965), The Six Million Dollar Man (1974), The A-Team (1983) and Batman (1966).
